The 12th annual FMSCICOM scientific conference took place in hybrid form

The 12th annual scientific conference for Ph.D. students and young researchers, called FMSCICOM (Scientific Conference in Management), took place at the Faculty of Management, Prague University of Economics and Business. The aim of the conference from its very beginning is to provide young researchers with a platform to share their research in management, economics and related fields. The 12th year took place on Friday, October 15, 2021, in hybrid form.

Due to the uncertainty regarding the anti-epidemic rules, the conference has been planned in a purely online form. As the current rules allowed, the conference took place in a hybrid form. The programme committee evaluating the individual contributions was on the premises of the Faculty of Management, the individual participants joined the sessions through the Microsoft Teams platform. At the faculty, a virtual auditorium was created in the Scientific Council meeting room, in which the visitors could watch the conference. Thanks to the online broadcast, all those interested in this field of research could also take part in the conference, free of charge.

The 12th year of the conference was actively attended by 12 young researchers with a total of 8 scientific papers. Of these, the programme committee consisting of employees of the Faculty of Management selected the 3 best contributions:

  • Shared 1st place: Kateryna Martiushenko, Eduard Palovchyk: Gender Stereotypes in Toy Industry: „Creatable World“ Case
  • Shared 1st place: Roman Golotovskiy: The Impact of Organizational Growth and Organizational Structure on Organizational Silence
  • 3rd place: Martin Rod: Enterprise Architecture Framework Adoption in Public Administration of Czechia – Conformity of Models

The conference included 3 keynote speakers. A keynote Make It Move: The Effectiveness of Using Motion Techniques in Visual Marketing Trends was presented by Lana Mulier from Ghent University in Belgium, Esra Bal Kulahi then opened the afternoon session with keynote on International Competitiveness of SMEs. The whole conference was closed by Jan Závodný Pospíšil from the Faculty of Management with his keynote on the topic of Artificial Intelligence Social Design Thinking Lab: Austria-Czech Cooperation.
