The 16th annual FMSCICOM 25 scientific conference once again brought together young scientists in the field of management
On Friday, November 28, 2025, the Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business hosted the 16th annual FMSCICOM 2025 international scientific conference, intended primarily for doctoral students and young researchers in the field of management. This year’s conference once again offered an open and informal space for presenting research projects, sharing ideas, professional discussion, and establishing interdisciplinary and international contacts.
The program was divided into two blocks. While the junior block was intended for beginning doctoral students in the early stages of research and focused on research proposals and initial concepts, the senior block was dedicated to advanced doctoral students and repeat presenters who presented their work in progress leading to their final dissertations. The traditional section of presentations with a panel of experts was supplemented by a section of so-called scientific posters, i.e., graphic posters that briefly summarize the focus and outputs of the scientific work of individual participants.
Thanks to the international jury, participants in both blocks gained a dynamic space for constructive feedback and expert discussion on current topics in the field of management. “With the FMSCICOM conference, we strive to give the PhD students an open space to experience what it is like to stand before a committee, present their research, and attempt to defend it in the subsequent discussion. For many young doctoral students, this is an invaluable way to try out, here at home, what they can expect at international conferences,” said the Vice-Dean for Science, Research, and Doctoral Studies, assoc. prof. Tomas Kincl, PhD, describing the purpose of the conference.
The international dimension of the conference was added by distinguished guests who have been attending it for many years. This year’s edition once again welcomed colleagues from Corvinus University in Budapest – Dóra Horváth, Éva Márkos-Kujbus, and Tamás Csordás, as well as representatives of Polish universities – Agnieszka Bem, Paweł Prędkiewicz, Rafał Siedlecki, and Katarzyna Miszczyńska from Wroclaw University of Economics and Business and the University of Łódź. Their participation significantly contributed to the international character of the event and enriched the professional discussions with further perspectives.
The expert committee selected the most interesting and best presented and defended topics from all 13 registered participants. This year, the winners were:
- Scientific poster section: Haneen Dababneh for her poster Layering Identity: How Cosmetic Brands Become Part of Who We Are.
- Junior section: Josef Vins for his paper The Impact of Consumer Animosity on Domestic Brands and Hammna Jillani for her paper What Fills the Intention-Action Gap for Students’ Pro-Environmental Behaviors?
- Senior section: Tereza Kubalova for her paper Beyond Primary Satisfiers: Rethinking the Determinants of Visitor Satisfaction in Tourism Destinations
The FMSCICOM 25 conference is a platform for supporting young scientists, developing their research skills, and building professional networks, which systematically creates space for sharing knowledge and developing a new generation of academics in the field of management within the Faculty of Management.
