The Alumni Board will help develop the skills of students of the Faculty of Management

The Alumni Board, a professional working group composed of alumni of the Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business, was created to assist in developing the study programs and skills of students and future graduates of the faculty. The first meeting of the Alumni Board was held on Friday, November 7, 2025 and was attended by most of the members who expressed interest in membership in the advisory body.

“The world around us, and therefore the business sphere for which we educate our students, is changing incredibly quickly every day and we have to respond to it somehow. We do not want to teach theory according to 30-year-old knowledge. Instead, we try to do everything possible to ensure that our students and future graduates know exactly what is currently trending and what business desires. With this in mind, we created the Alumni Board platform, in which our graduates can openly tell us what we should change in our study plans or subjects so that our students are sought after on the job market,” added the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Bc. Mojmír Sabolovič, Ph.D., to the establishment of the advisory body.

Members of the Alumni Board advisory body were recruited on the basis of voluntary, independent application. “We were surprised by the huge interest in participating. Already on the first day we announced our decision to establish this body, 60 of our graduates from various areas of the private and public sector contacted us,” explains the enormous interest Ing. Veronika Vašíčková, Ph.D., manager of the Knowledge Transfer Center, which is, among other things, responsible for cooperation with graduates at the Faculty of Management.

The first meeting brought a long discussion on a number of areas that are part of the study plans. The alumni were able to go through the individual knowledge and process areas that were implemented at the Faculty of Management, together with the management of the faculty, during the preparations for obtaining the internationally recognized AACSB accreditation, which the Prague University of Economics and Business received in 2024 as the one and only university in the Czech Republic . “When they tell you that you are doing well, it definitely makes you happy. However, that is not a reason why we should rest on our laurels. The several-hour discussion that we had with our graduates showed us new ways for what we could change and, above all, how we could sell it better so that our faculty is truly sought after,” added the Vice-Dean for Science, Research and Doctoral Studies, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Tomáš Kincl, Ph.D., who is also the guarantor of the study programs, to the first meeting of the Alumni Board.
