The seventh Innovation Week brought 1,500 visitors inspiration, new skills and a behind-the-scenes look at corporate practice

From November 3 to November 7, 2025, the Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business hosted the seventh Innovation Week – a series of lectures, workshops and excursions focused on connecting teaching with real practice. In total, more than two dozen events were held, which were attended by 1,500 participants from among the students and employees of the faculty, graduates, high school students and the general public. “Innovation Week has become a stable part of the academic calendar for us and at the same time a platform on which, together with our partner organizations, we show that the world outside our university is just as important as the one inside. I see the benefit of this event not only in the knowledge and skills, but also in the motivation that participants gain thanks to personal meetings with experts from practice,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Assoc. Ing. Bc. Mojmír Sabolovič, Ph.D.

The lectures of the 7th Innovation Week covered the areas of strategic management, cybersecurity, accounting and modern approaches to project management. Participants could listen to, for example, “Cybersecurity in Practice: Defense against Silent Threats to Business” by a representative of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, a retrospective look at recent history in the lecture “Building Capitalism in the Czech Republic or Privatization: Dreams vs. Reality” by the Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Ing. Jiří Vopátek, Ph.D., the differences between waterfall and agile project management from Škoda Auto representative or look at the taxation of streaming or trading in crypto assets from AUDIT MAX representative. The retail sector was represented by the lecture “Power Play of Retail: An Innovative Approach to Sponsoring” by Kaufland.

A practical focus awaited the students, for example, in a workshop from graduates of the Faculty of Management as part of their FindOut Academy project, career coaching in the form of the workshop “Your dream job starts with a BRAVE goal” from representatives of E.ON, or an unconventional workshop with the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method as part of the workshop “Customers in a Nutshell”.

There were also excursions – students and teachers went both to the automotive sector at Škoda Auto and to regional social care facilities as part of the European DIGI4Care project, where they could learn about smart technologies that make the work of caregivers working with people with cognitive disabilities easier.

“Once again, we were able to confirm that our faculty is not only an academic, but also a socially open environment. We have long been striving to ensure that our students can meet inspiring personalities and companies, and thus better understand what awaits them in their professional lives. I appreciate every partner who brings their own energy and experience to the event,” adds Ing. Veronika Vašíčková, Ph.D., manager of the Knowledge Transfer Center, who coordinates the entire event.

With this approach, the faculty has once again confirmed that modern university education is not only about theory, but above all about experience gained through direct contact with the reality of contemporary business. The next Innovation Week will take place again in the week from April 7 to 10, 2026.
