E-Commerce Innovation & Knowledge Transfer Lab (E-KIT Lab)

The E-KIT Lab connects the academic environment of the Faculty of Management at the Prague University of Economics and Business with the IT People technological platform, aiming to support innovation development, applied research, and knowledge transfer in the field of e-commerce. The group was established as a continuation of the collaboration within the Knowledge Transfer II project and develops activities focused on the effective management of e-commerce organisations, digital process optimisation, data-driven decision-making, and the implementation of new technologies into practice.
We combine academic know-how in management, process management, and data analytics with the technological and innovation capabilities of our partners from practice. Our goal is to create an environment where research, practice, and technology converge, enabling the development of solutions that support the long-term competitiveness of Czech companies in the digital landscape.

Our Activities

The research group focuses on developing and testing new approaches to managing e-commerce organizations, implementing modern technologies, and connecting academic knowledge with business practice.
Together with IT People, we implement:

  • development and testing of innovative managerial tools for e-commerce companies (performance management, task planning, KPI tracking, BI systems);
  • development of new models of education and innovation adoption in companies;
  • implementation of digital tools for process management and business knowledge development;
  • support of knowledge transfer between universities and technology companies;
  • creation of a platform for sharing data, know-how, and best practices among participating partners;
  • collaboration on applied and development projects in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence.

Our joint activities thus contribute to the development of the e-commerce ecosystem and strengthen the innovation capacity of companies operating in this rapidly growing sector.

Our Goals

The objective of E-KIT Lab is to connect science, research, and business practice in the field of e-commerce and to create a dynamic environment for testing and transferring innovations. The group aims to:

  • strengthen cooperation between universities, technology companies, and small and medium-sized enterprises,
  • support the digital transformation of Czech companies through applied research,
  • develop competences in data analytics, AI, and innovation management,
  • and create practically applicable outputs for both business and academic environments.
