Housing Economics and Policy: Olgierd Jeż fosters international cooperation with Wroclaw

The Faculty of Management welcomed Olgierd Jeż from Wroclaw University of Economics and Business for a research stay during April, focusing on housing economics and public policy.

Olgierd Jeż is a PhD student in Economics and Finance, and his research focuses on housing markets in post-socialist countries following the economic transition. His work particularly addresses social housing, housing provision, and the role of public institutions, especially local governments, in shaping housing policy. He is also interested in comparing how countries in Central and Eastern Europe approach similar housing challenges and how their systems have evolved over time.

My stay at the Faculty of Management provided an excellent opportunity to gain an international and comparative perspective. It allowed me to explore how housing markets and local policies function in a different institutional context and to exchange ideas with researchers working in related fields. I especially value the discussions, which helped me look at data and its analysis from a different perspective,” says Olgierd Jeż.

His visit also included expert consultations with the Dean of the Faculty, Mojmír Sabolovič, which contributed to new perspectives on data analysis in the field of housing economics. According to him, these discussions will have a significant impact on the further development of his research.

This visit highlights the importance of international collaboration in research and education. The Faculty of Management continuously supports academic mobility and creates opportunities for sharing knowledge and expertise across countries and disciplines.
