Health Care Management

The minor concerns the field of health care, both in the world and in the local conditions of the Czech Republic. It has always been one of the most sought-after at the Faculty of Management. Currently it is taught by experts with many years of practical experience, thanks to which students gain a more practical, comprehensive insight into the issue and will be able to successfully work in leading positions not only in medical facilities suppliers and other partner organizations.


The graduates will be able to…

  • explain the essence of management of health services, public health and managerial epidemiology as tools of public health analysis; obtain, process and use information as a basis for management, create concepts and plans of medical facilities, apply the acquired skills at the level of operational and middle management in the management of individual sections of medical facilities,
  • apply the basic principles of economic theory to the system of providing health services through the use of specific knowledge of the behavior of health systems and individual subjects of the health market; orientate in the basic forms of financing individual types of medical entities and facilities,
  • explain the essence of economic valuation of health care programs,
  • define the quality of provided services, use the criteria of quality evaluation in health services, effectively and efficiently manage the improvement of the quality of health care at the level of the hospital department,
  • be familiar with the issues of health informatics, including specific areas such as the issue of hospital information systems, electronic patient documentation, imaging modalities / systems or a relatively new concept of the so-called evidence medicine;
  • understand the basic legal and ethical aspects of managerial decision-making in the field of healthcare.
