Internal Student Competition
Rules of the Internal Student Competition
The purpose of this competition is to support the activities of the students, student organizations and associations that promote the good name of the faculty. This contributes to the achievement of strategic objective 5 of priority area 3 of the FM Strategic Development Plan.
The competition is intended for students of the Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business in regular and combined forms of study. It supports activities that are in line with the Faculty’s development objectives as defined in the FM Strategic Development Plan.
How to apply for support
The application for support must be submitted by the student who will be responsible for the implementation of the activity. However, the participation of other students who will be members of the implementation team is anticipated.
The application for support can be submitted in two rounds in a given calendar year. The first round at the beginning of the summer semester enables you to design activities with a completion date of either in the summer semester or in the winter semester. The second additional round at the start of the winter semester enables you to design activities with a completion date only in the winter semester. For the year 2018, the following application dates are determined:
- Summer semester: Until 28th February 2020
- Winter semester: Until 9th October 2021
It should be emphasized that the additional round will regard competing for the remaining funds allocated for the Internal Student Competition and that this round may not be assigned if the funds will be exhausted in the first round.
The application must be submitted on the relevant form and sent electronically to the administrator of the competition, Mgr. Irena Míková. Students are advised to consult the content of the application with the administrator before submitting it. The application will then be assessed by a three-member commission, which may recommend to the FM Scholarship Commission the following:
- Recommend the application to be fully funded
- Recommend a request for funding with an adjustment to the expenditure amount
- Not recommend the application for funding
Following the decision of the FM Scholarship Commission on the funding of the application, it is necessary to submit to the administrator a signed application with the final version of the anticipated expenditure, i.e. either in the original version or modified in the case of an adjustment to the expenditure amount.
Funding of activities
Funding for the implementation of activities is in the form of a scholarship from the Faculty of Management. The faculty will provide up to 100,000 CZK per calendar year for the implementation of all supported activities. The faculty reserves the right, in justified cases, to increase this limit or to include additional resources in the financing of the activity. The maximum funding amount for an individual application is not fixed. However, it is appropriate to take into account the total volume of allocated resources and to prepare a reasonable and realistic budget.
The application for support must indicate the timetable for the implementation of individual activities and associated costs (e.g. purchase of supplies, provision of refreshments, rental of premises, editorial services, travel costs) throughout the implementation period. All expenses must be directly related to the implementation of the activity, should be well justified and as specific as possible. Expenses that do not meet these conditions will not be funded by the Faculty of Management.
In the event of a recommendation for a grant application and its approval by the FM Scholarship Commission, the scholarship will be paid to the responsible student according to the timetable stated in the application. After presenting the final report, the Commission usually proposes a reward for the successful implementation of the activity to each member of the team in the form of an extraordinary scholarship.
Conclusion of activities
As soon as the activity is concluded, it is necessary to submit to the administrator a signed final report, an integral part of which is an overview of the actual expenses associated with the implementation of the activity, including all the documents. For the year 2018, the final dates for submitting the final report are:
- Summer semester: Up to 30th June 2020
- Winter semester: Up to 31st January 2020
Subsequently, the assessment commission will propose to the FM Scholarship Commission the payment of the remuneration for the implementation of the activity to be paid to the team members according to their involvement in the implementation of the activity, the quality of the output, the quality of the final report and also according to the actual drawdown of financial resources.
